Bathroom in a maritime atmosphere

Description of the arrangement

A bathroom in nautical style is like a breath of warm wind at any time of the year. It is reminiscent of a summer Mediterranean climate or a holiday by the sea. How do you achieve such an effect?

The basis is the right colour scheme. The nautical style likes light and fresh colours. It will therefore certainly be white, which we combine with a rich blue palette. This includes turquoise, navy blue and sea blue. Beige and écru also fit in here, while those who prefer stronger accents can opt for red or yellow details. A maritime décor should also include wood, which is most often found on the floor. It would be good if it looked like wood fished from the sea, with cracks and a clear grain.

As important as the colour scheme of a maritime bathroom are the finishing and decorative elements introduced into it. Probably the one most associated with it is the nautical wallpaper - in white and blue stripes. But any motifs associated with the sea will work perfectly here: anchors, steering wheels and portholes. Decorations can include shells, lighthouses or lifebuoys.

In our nautical-style arrangement, the washbasin area takes centre stage. It is distinguished by two washbasin bowls accompanied by Padwa taps and a massive cabinet made of aged wood. The porthole-shaped mirrors are also characteristic. The bathtub is equipped with a Padwa bath mixer and a Rondo shower set with a rain shower. This combination of functions works well in bathrooms where there is not enough space to place both. The bathtub can be covered by a shower curtain - preferably with navy stripes, of course.
